Tagging (Pro Feature)

You can tag your fonts to organize them into categories. This way, instead of going through all of your fonts every time, you can instantly narrow down your options.

To tag multiple fonts

  1. Enter a text to preview your fonts
  2. Select the previews you want to tag
  3. Click the Filter selected fonts button
  4. Click the Tag button (on top left)
  5. Add one or more tags:
    • Type a tag name and press Enter to add it, or
    • Click on existing tags from the list below
    • Type a few letters to filter the list of existing tags
    • Use arrow keys to navigate the list and Enter to select a tag
  6. Click Save to apply all selected tags

Alternatively, after selecting multiple fonts, you can click the + icon on the bottom right of one of the font previews, and then choose the All selected fonts tab to tag them all at once.

Tip: You can add multiple tags at once before saving. And, if there's text in the input field when you click Save, it will be automatically added as a new tag.

To tag a single font

  1. Enter a text to preview your fonts
  2. Hover over the font you want to tag
  3. Click the + button on bottom right (or ••• button if the font already has tags)
  4. Add one or more tags:
    • Type a tag name and press Enter to add it, or
    • Click on existing tags from the list below
    • Remove existing tags by clicking the × on the tag
  5. Click Save to apply all changes

To filter fonts with your tags

  1. Enter a text to preview your fonts
  2. Click the Tagged Fonts navigation menu item
  3. Select one or more tags from the tags list below
  4. Deactivate a selected tag by clicking it again

Wordmark, by default, filters fonts with any of the selected tags. If you want to filter fonts that have all the selected tags, hover over the text Showing fonts with any of the selected tags and click to change the filter.

To add or remove tags from fonts

You can now add and remove multiple tags at once from the tag modal:

  1. Open the tag modal (either from a single font or multiple selected fonts)
  2. To add tags: Type a tag name and press Enter, or click existing tags from the list
  3. To remove tags: Click the × on any tag pill
  4. Review the "Tags to be removed" summary if you've removed any tags
  5. Click Save to apply all changes at once

Tip: When tagging multiple fonts, you can only remove tags that are shared among all selected fonts. Any tags you add will be applied to all selected fonts.

Keyboard shortcuts: Use arrow keys to navigate the tag list, Tab or , to add tags quickly, and Esc to close the dropdown.

To rename or delete a tag

  1. Enter a text to preview your fonts
  2. Click the Tagged Fonts navigation menu item
  3. Click the Edit tags link on the rightmost side of the tags list.
    Buttons to delete and rename will appear on all tags
  4. Click the × button to delete a tag
  5. Click the button to rename a tag

Alternative: Removing tags using Edit Tags mode

You can also remove tags one at a time using the Edit Tags mode:

  1. Enter a text to preview your fonts
  2. Click the Tagged Fonts navigation menu item
  3. Click the Edit tags link on the rightmost side of the tags list.
    Name of the tags and × buttons to remove them will appear on the previews below.
  4. Click the × icon next to a tag name on a font to remove that tag from it

To see untagged fonts

This comes in handy if you just installed some new fonts and want to tag them as well.

  1. Enter a text to preview your fonts
  2. Click the Tagged Fonts navigation menu item
  3. Click Untagged fonts on the rightmost side of the tags list.
  4. Click Your untagged fonts to see only your fonts (exclude system fonts)
